Hypnotism

Hypnotism is a state in which the person seems to be under a spell of another person (the hypnotist) and will ready perform any action or behave as suggested by the hypnotist. Hypnotism techniques can be learnt from a hypnotist with a little practice. Most people learn to hypnotize themselves first and then practice it on friends and other people.

Many aspects of  hypnotism are similar to those of meditation, and control of  the mind  is important. About 10% of the population gets hypnotized more easily than other people, and some studies show that these people may have a vivid imagination.  It is not possible to hypnotize some people, as they are so absorbed in their day to day events and problems, that they cannot concentrate.

Like any other technique, hypnotism can be used for good and for causing harm. It can be used for getting rid of  bad habits like smoking, drinking, for weight loss. However, it can be misused by robbers and to commit frauds .
