Phases of hypnotism
Tuesday, October 28th, 2008Hypnotism involves the following phases:
1. Preparation - getting ready for the hypnotism session. Sit on a sofa or a bed in a comfortable position , so that the mind can relax.
2. Induction : the mind gradually moves from a state of awareness to a state of relaxation. This is done by clearing the mind of all thoughts and making each part of the body relax slowly.
3. Deepening : the mind moves to hypnotized state and conscious thinking is minimized, so that the hypnotist can make suggestions
4. Once the subject is in the hypnotized state, the person is made to do what the hypnotist wants him / her to do. For therapy sessions, the person usually realizes the benefits of adopting a particular lifestyle.
5. Awakening - the person gradually comes out of the state of hypnotism and returns to the normal state of self awareness.
